Do you work with individuals that are re-entering the community? Are they in need of housing or are they HIV positive or mentally ill?
THORMINC seeks to involve and meet the needs of ex-offenders re-entering the community by contacting all prison ministries, grassroots local organizations & resources to provide much needed supportive services.
To achieve this goal, there are three co participants in the justice process—victims, offenders, educators and communities.
In the plight of local budget cuts, there is still opportunity for funding for Northeast Florida. There is a balance in meeting, sanctioning public safety, and rehabilitative needs of communities in which ex-offenders enter.
Aspects of the balanced approach include values, clients, decision-making processes, performance outcomes, program priorities, and new roles for providers. THORMINC, The House Of Refuge Min, Inc seeks to address the re-integrative (competency development), sanctioning (accountability), and public safety goals of the balanced approach mission.
THORMINC, The House Of Refuge Min, Inc. encourages citizens, government agencies, social service organizations, and community-based organizations, including faith-based organizations, to make this offender population a priority.
Funding comes to groups that utilize existing resources and collaborate on programs that will protect their communities by providing for the reentry of offenders. The integral part of these resources is the faith-based community.
