have been opened, the wrapping is thrown away and the dinner dishes have been put away, let us hang on to the spirit of the holiday. GIVING.

THORMINC is thankful to all who gave to men and women re-entering our community for Christmas. Your gifts went to those who had no other gifts coming from family, but you stepped in and that made a great difference. Thank you for seeing the vision and giving ex-offenders a chance to work, re-intergrate, and live in our community. Thank you for giving ex-offenders a second chance. Thank you for your donations of clothing, food and gifts during this season.

    Jesus said:
Acts 20:35 – I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

    He also said:
    Mt 26:11 – For
ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.

Let us remember that sharing and giving is a year long event. Many have already begun shopping for next Christmas. While doing so, please drop something extra into your basket for ex-offenders. Those donations go a long way and are so desperately needed.

THORMINC has been told that we are doing a good work. With your help we can achieve more. We are asking you to join in for the year 2008.

After the presents have been put away for the night, remember how blessed you are and that somewhere in Jacksonville, there are those who have no presents, tree or home.

There is still time for year-end donations. THORMINC is a 501(c)3 Ministry and all donations are tax deductible.

Christmas is just this one day but we have another 364 days to give of ourselves to those who are less fortunate.

Please, pass this on to 5 people on your e-mail list.

  • THE HOLIDAYS

I have noticed over the years that for many people, the Holidays are quite difficult. Families get together and what should be a happy occasion, many times it turns into uncomfortable conversations that causes wounds that can last a lifetime. Over the years, families begin to drift apart and not come together as they have in the past.

Friendships are affected the same way. So, I looked at this situation very carefully and noticed one thing. We are all so different that we fail to see that those differences causes us to look and say things differently.

    In one word: MISUNDERSTANDING

That is a very big word and one that I hope during this Holiday Season we will all work at making sure all misunderstandings are cleared up.

This word causes people who once spoke to each other happily, to answer each other short or even worse, stop speaking. This word causes bitterness and sad feelings.

    MISUNDERSTANDING.

I pray during this Holiday season, we all take the time to recap this year and reflect in the areas of known misunderstandings. This has truly been a very difficult year for Jacksonville. All the way from misunderstandings in City Hall on paying for garbarge pick up; children murdering children; Foundations providing to our children in our neighborhoods; to failing schools etc…

    MISUNDERSTANDING.

If we first can all agree that we may disagree and word it in such a way that offense would have a difficult time entering in…we then have begun the process of clearing misunderstanding.

What is said from one mouth, with good intentions, passes through polluted air to ears that hear not what was actually being said, but upon entry has immediately become polluted. Not that the person receiving what is being said thinks polluted, but somewhere between take off and landing one gear went down and not three. Misunderstanding.

I have attached a site that I hope you will read and pass on to others. Please understand that I am sending this out to everyone on my e-mail list and I am not aiming this at no one in particular. I just want to share. I do not want to create any MISUNDERSTANDING.

My sending this is in hope that if anyone has misunderstood someone else, as opposed to stop speaking and ill feelings arousing, you go to them and understand that they are the same person you became friends with; minus the misunderstanding.

Murder in Jacksonville is because of MISUNDERSTANDING.

    Please read:

As the Angel said: PEACE on earth and good will towards men.

Let us all understand that it has been a misunderstanding.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday (understand, I do not mean to leave anyone out or insult)
